A uniquely diverse Pre-K to12 school district, the Bogota Public Schools is reflective of the multi-facetted values of a proud community. With two K-6 neighborhood schools and a junior/senior high school supporting the students in grades 7-12 the district maintains a nurturing yet ambitious scholastic environment. Active parent organizations work in concert with building administrators and a dedicated Board of Education to refine academic direction and prepare students for the demands of the 21st Century workplace.

From early intervention programs to Advanced Placement courses the district is determined to establish a curriculum that challenges all ability levels. Moving forward to achieve a heightened level of academic integrity requires a coordinated effort. With the expanded use of standardized tests to evaluate student progress, the district strives to utilize available data as a component in developing targeted instructional focus. Emphasis has been placed on reviewing existing language arts and mathematics programs to determine the methods used to deliver instruction to ensure the use of strategies that address differentiation in the classroom. Closely aligned with this initiative is a commitment to provide increased opportunities for the instructional staff to expand their command of techniques that create an interactive learning environment. In addition the need to expand the use of technology as an integral tool in lesson preparation, scholastic engagement and monitoring student performance remains a high priority

The Bogota School Community believes that the success of our students depends on a strong partnership between the schools and parents/guardians. Throughout the year, school personnel provide opportunities for community members to visit the schools, speak to the teachers, and witness the creative and athletic talents of our student body. Additionally, there is an ongoing school wide effort that supports charity and citizenship. Students participate in an assortment of activities, school based organizations and municipal programs that encourage community awareness. The vision of the school district is to work with parents in developing the skills of each child; skills that are based upon intellectual curiosity, self confidence, and compassion for the human spirit.

Please explore the website and learn more about the people and activities that contribute to the vitality of the school district.

Our 32nd President of the United States, Franklin D. Roosevelt, once said, “There are many ways of going forward, but only one way of standing still.” In the Bogota Public School District, we are not standing still or accepting the status quo. Whether providing hands-on learning experiences or nurturing students of strong character and notable citizenship, the Bogota School District is giving new meaning to the term “comprehensive education.” Students are actively engaged in learning both in and out of the classroom. Our efforts to develop new knowledge and skills are not only focused on our students. We are striving to create an education community focused on life-long learning. Our professional staff members are challenging themselves by accepting new roles, new technologies, and new strategies. As a result, Bogota School District is personalizing learning to build on the strengths and to help over-come student weaknesses. I applaud our teachers for their willingness to accept new challenges and new ideas to improve student achievement for the future. We are not implementing change because our schools are not good. We are changing because our schools can be excellent. We already have the staff to make this possible. Our efforts for reform go beyond the class-room walls. As you pass by, you will see concrete evidence that we are striving to create safe, welcoming, learning environments in each of our schools. This does not just refer to building structures, but to the environment inside the schools. The greatest measure of the success of any district is the strength of the relationships that exists between children and caring adults. In Bogota School District, we are committed to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to learn. We do this by honoring the uniqueness of each student and by setting high expectations for all. If you are standing still, you may miss the opportunity to come aboard to be part of something greater than yourself. Join us, now, as we move forward to create 21st Century Schools to prepare your child for an exciting tomorrow.
