A uniquely diverse Pre-K to12 school district, the Bogota Public Schools is reflective of the multi-facetted values of a proud community. With two K-6 neighborhood schools and a junior/senior high school supporting the students in grades 7-12 the district maintains a nurturing yet ambitious scholastic environment. Active parent organizations work in concert with building administrators and a dedicated Board of Education to refine academic direction and prepare students for the demands of the 21st Century workplace.
From early intervention programs to Advanced Placement courses the district is determined to establish a curriculum that challenges all ability levels. Moving forward to achieve a heightened level of academic integrity requires a coordinated effort. With the expanded use of standardized tests to evaluate student progress, the district strives to utilize available data as a component in developing targeted instructional focus. Emphasis has been placed on reviewing existing language arts and mathematics programs to determine the methods used to deliver instruction to ensure the use of strategies that address differentiation in the classroom. Closely aligned with this initiative is a commitment to provide increased opportunities for the instructional staff to expand their command of techniques that create an interactive learning environment. In addition the need to expand the use of technology as an integral tool in lesson preparation, scholastic engagement and monitoring student performance remains a high priority
The Bogota School Community believes that the success of our students depends on a strong partnership between the schools and parents/guardians. Throughout the year, school personnel provide opportunities for community members to visit the schools, speak to the teachers, and witness the creative and athletic talents of our student body. Additionally, there is an ongoing school wide effort that supports charity and citizenship. Students participate in an assortment of activities, school based organizations and municipal programs that encourage community awareness. The vision of the school district is to work with parents in developing the skills of each child; skills that are based upon intellectual curiosity, self confidence, and compassion for the human spirit.
