imperative that the school have
your most up-to-date contact information. However, you should not rely solely on
this phone call.
MORNING ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Students should arrive
at school no earlier than
Students must line-up

During inclement weather, line-up will take place in the gymnasium.
A day of absence will be attained for every (6) tardies. Students arriving late to school must obtain

Any efforts to promote being on time for classroom
instruction are appreciated.
Notify the school in the event your child is absent, by calling the Main Office at (201)342-6446. Upon returning to school after an absence, a written excuse must be provided. The excuse should consist of a note from the parent or guardian or from a doctor, indicating date(s) of absence(s) and, the reason. All notes should be submitted to the office upon arrival to school after an absence.
A student must be in attendance a minimum of 164 days to be eligible for promotion. A student absent more than 16 days of school is liable for the penalties of this policy regardless if the absences are excused or unexcused. Class periods missed through tardiness to school, absence from school or early dismissal will be counted as absences. Non-chargeable absences will not count. Although a student may satisfactorily complete the grade level, he/she may not be promoted if the attendance requirement is not fulfilled.
Respecting a student’s right to an education, the following plan of action utilizes due process and constructive measures of rehabilitation:

|
17th Day |
Notification will be sent by certified mail to the parent/guardian informing them of the student’s promotion status. The parent/guardian will have five (5) school days in which to appeal the promotion status in writing to the Principal. |
Children who need
medication during school hours are required to have a form completed and signed
by the physician and parent in order for the school nurse to administer the
medication. Please call the school nurse
and request the complete medication policy and permission form if needed.
The parent/guardian must complete a new “Administration of Medication to Students” form each year and whenever a physician changes the prescription. This information applies to non-prescription drugs as well as prescription medicines. Under no circumstances should a student have any medicine (prescription or over-the-counter) in his/her possession during school hours.
If your child has a fever
they should not return to school until the temperature has remained normal for
at least 24 hours. This
precaution is for the well being of your child and his/her classmates.
A Certified School Nurse
is available in the Health Office every school day from
Whenever there is any
change in your child’s health, communicate it to the School Nurse either in
writing or by calling (201)441-4837.
The following are examples of which a notification would be appreciated:
·
If your child
requires an exam from his/her physician of which the Nurse should
be
made aware.
·
If your child is
taking a medication, even if it is not during school hours.
·
If your child is
diagnosed with a health condition, such as asthma or a fractured bone.
·
If you feel that
your child will require medical attention during school hours.
Up-to-date phone numbers and addresses should be provided in
writing. Please be sure the Emergency
Form that is sent home each year is reviewed for accuracy. This form must be signed and returned to your
child’s teacher the first day of each school year. Be sure that the emergency contact person(s)
is at home during the day and knows you have listed them for this purpose. Parents/Guardians will be called first and
then the emergency contact person. It
is very important to update this information immediately when employment
and/or telephone numbers change.
Please provide as much information as you can.
All students are eligible
to participate in the Breakfast and Lunch Programs.
The program is being
administered this year by Nu-Way Concessionaires and a new system has been

weekly meal order form. Meal
