Website of the Week:           http://www.search.ebscohost.com
EBSCOhost offers a comprehensive database of articles on thousands of different topics.  The site is perfect for students conducting research for a paper or project about a specific topic.

Past Websites of the Week:

http://www.answers.com
This site offers explanations and information on topics rather than links to other sources/pages.  There is also a citation feature at the bottom of each page to encourage users to cite the source of their information and make it easy for them to do so.  Answers.com is easy to navigate and use, and it is a great tool for information gathering.

http://www.teachnetwork.com
teachNetwork is a social networking and file sharing community for educators.  It is free to sign up.  The site is a great way for teachers to communicate, collaborate, and share ideas with one another.  Teachers can put up profiles of themselves, including the types of classes they teach, the schools in which they work, and more. By creating a profile, teachers become part of a searchable community of users, creating the potential for collaboration on a large scale.  Furthermore, teachers can upload and share their lesson plans of their classes with other members.  In doing so, teachers add their collection of educational materials with the collections of others, creating a giant pool of teacher-oriented material.  These files are organized by subject matter, making it easy for teachers to find information they are looking for.

http://www.easybib.com
EasyBib is a free site that automatically generates bibliographies in correct MAL or APA format.  Students just log onto the site and follow the directions and prompts on the screen.  They can choose what type of source they are entering (book, website, journal, etc.), and enter as much of the requested information as they have.  EasyBib does the rest.  The students can enter in their email address to save their bibliography in EasyBib and access it at a later date.

World Book Online is a great resource for our students when they need to do research.  It is a great starting point for gathering information.  It provides current information and headlines as well as an Atlas, Dictionary, Encyclopedia and a section on Exploring New Jersey.  There is also a section for educators.  It offers content standards and curriculum correlations, lesson plans and more.
