COOPERATIVE EDUCATION
The purpose of Cooperative Education is to prepare
students for useful employment and provide them with a school-to-career
experience. Students attend school through 5th period and then leave school to
work at an approved worksite in a career area of their choice. This course
allows both college bound and non-college bound students to explore careers and
gain on the job experience. Students
attend in-class support sessions where they learn job foundation skills and
hear presentations on different careers from local post-secondary schools
offering scholarship opportunities. Students are guided through a process of
career exploration and self-assessment to better guide them in their career
selection.
