Cumulative Progress Indicator: 2 - The student will conduct a cooperative activity or project that addresses a character trait.

Sample Activities:

 

·       The behavior of sports stars and movie personalities has been called into question. Develop a system for identifying and promoting positive role models in the community.

 

·       Current transportation systems consume natural resources and add to pollution and congestion.

 

·       Citizenship is about making the community better.  From a local newspaper, website, or other resources, make a list of things that have been done to help community members, make the community safer, or help build cooperation among the townspeople.  Determine a group, family, or individual that needs help and develop and carry out a project to help those in need.

 

·       The class discusses character traits, such as citizenship, respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, and caring.  As a class, develop a project that would help the class demonstrate the trait for someone in the community.
