Sample Activities:

 

·       An individual wants to select a career pathway….in an area of interest for future employment and postsecondary and lifelong learning

 

·       Although New Jersey is well known as the Garden State, it certainly could be recognized as the Invention State. We now live in an increasing complex "global society" with demands for increased invention, design, and manufacturing to make people's lives and work more productive while meeting personal and family needs.

 

·       Current transportation systems consume natural resources and add to pollution and congestion.

 

·       Accessible Public Transportation

 

·        Ethics in the Workplace

 

·       I’ve Got a Problem-Conflict in the Workplace

 

·       Students divide into groups of four. Utilizing digital cameras, each group is responsible to take pictures of home, school, community, and business settings. Instruct students to consciously look for areas that could present health and safety hazards. Each group gets together in class and makes a list of all the safety concerns from all their images. When this activity is complete, the students project their images on a large screen in the classroom. The other groups list all the potential safety hazards they can identify (for each group presenting). The teacher facilitates a concluding discussion of hidden health and safety hazards.

 

·       Teenagers often have a tendency to feel invincible and be driven by hormones and emotions. How do these typical adolescent traits impact teenage health and safety? What can students do to grab their peer’s attention and educate them on the outcomes of impulsive, unrealistic, thought and behavior? Students will create a multimedia presentation dealing with the above stated  issues. The multimedia presentation must re-establish reality and help teenagers deal with hormonal urges and emotional instability. The students will share their multimedia presentation with their classmates. This activity is appropriate anytime during junior year.
